Capture Screenshot is a Chrome extension that captures, annotates, and exports screenshots of webpages. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This extension is designed to work entirely on your device with no data collection, no cloud services, and no third-party tracking.

Data Collection

We do not collect any personal data. Specifically:

• No personal information is collected, stored, or transmitted
• No browsing history is tracked or recorded
• No analytics or tracking scripts are included
• No cookies are set by the extension
• No data is sent to any external server

Screenshot Data

All screenshots you capture are stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage (chrome.storage.local). This data:

• Never leaves your device
• Is not accessible to any external service
• Is not shared with anyone
• Can be deleted at any time from the extension's History or Settings page

Permissions

The extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

• activeTab — To capture screenshots of the currently active tab when you click a capture button
• scripting — To inject content scripts for select area, snap element, and full page capture functionality
• storage — To save your screenshot history and extension settings locally on your device
• unlimitedStorage — To store screenshot history locally without hitting Chrome's default 10MB storage limit, especially for full-page captures of long webpages

Third-Party Services

This extension does not use any third-party services, APIs, or SDKs. There are no ads, no analytics (such as Google Analytics), and no crash reporting services. The extension works completely offline after installation.

Data Storage

All data is stored locally using Chrome's extension storage APIs:

• chrome.storage.local — Screenshot history (images, metadata, timestamps)
• chrome.storage.sync — User settings and preferences (synced across your Chrome instances only)

You can clear all stored data at any time from the extension's Settings page using the "Clear history" or "Reset defaults" buttons.

Children's Privacy

This extension is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Since the extension collects no data, changes are expected to be minimal.
